Philosophy and Purpose

The Student Conduct Board hears cases of alleged misconduct to determine whether a student or student organization鈥檚 behavior violates the Student Conduct Code, and if a violation is found, imposes sanctions. Members include students, faculty, and stuff. Another purpose of the Board is to serve as an advisory committee to support programming and other issues that arise that impact the civic experience on campus.

Qualifications to Serve on University Conduct Board

• Members who are students must be in good academic and conduct standing.
• Members must be able to commit to serving on the University Conduct Board for two years.
• Members will commit to participating in approximately one-third of the conduct hearings聽 as scheduling permits.

Expectations for University Conduct Board Members

• Members will adhere to all provisions in the Student Conduct Code, and other University policies.
• Members will serve as leaders and role models to students and student organizations in the University community.
• Members will serve as advocates for the Office of Citizenship and Conduct as educators of the University community with regard to the Student Conduct Code and the University conduct process.
• Members will uphold the confidentiality of the information/identity of individuals involved in conduct complaints.
• Members will attend training sessions.
• Members will attend scheduled hearings and participate according to their training.
• Members will participate in ongoing training as needed.
• Members will communicate regularly with the Office of Citizenship and Conduct.

All applications for terms beginning Fall 2026 should be completed no later than Monday, September 21, 2026 at 5:00 PM. The next application cycle will be in mid-fall of 2027.
