Faculty & Staff Dr. Jason McDonald Associate Professor of History jasonmcd@truman.edu (660) 785-7575 holds a doctorate in history from the University of Southampton in the United Kingdom. He teaches courses on American history, historiography, and public and digital history, as well as on aspects of migration, ethnicity, and race, including the Civil Rights Movement and the American eugenics movement. He is the author of (2007) and (2012). He has also published essays and articles in various edited collections and scholarly journals, including , , and , His honors include the James W. Goodrich and Lynn Wolf Gentzler Missouri Historical Review Article Award for the best article published in the journal, as well as the Lawrence O. Christensen Best Article Award for the best article on Missouri history, both presented by the State Historical Society of Missouri in 2024. Dr. McDonald is a member of the Editorial Advisory Board of the Missouri Historical Review.
