Hone your language skills and broaden your cultural awareness through one of the many study-abroad programs available at Truman.
The World Languages Living Community, located in Missouri Hall, welcomes all first-year students who have a strong interest in learning about different languages and cultures. Residents have the opportunity to form close connections with Modern Language faculty and practice their language skills.
Earn a credit hour teaching English to elementary and middle school students in Taiwan via Zoom.
Several students groups provide opportunities for you to practice your language skills including Club Ã, a Spanish speaking organization; International Club; Japanese Language Exchange Group; Namaste Nepal; Chinese Language and Culture Association; United Speakers-Hablantes, and other student organizations.
Students with the high school credential of Missouri Seal of Biliteracy or other state Seals of Biliteracy can receive 6-14 hours of credit in elementary to intermediate levels for the designated foreign language.
You can transfer high school foreign language credits by meeting required scores on Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate, or CLEP tests.
