The Musical Theatre minor combines three areas—music, theatre, and dance—to create a transformative experience in the area of musical theatre. Whether your primary major is in theatre, vocal performance, dance, or another area, you can pursue a Musical Theatre minor to extend your degree and take classes that align with your interests. Participation in Truman musicals and operas will provide you with practical experience to support your coursework. Training and experience in musical theatre can lead to many career paths including: professional theatre performer, musical theatre choreographer, musical/vocal director, and, when paired with Truman’s MAE, high school educator in Theatre. No matter your background, you can tailor this minor to fit your skills and goals.
If you have questions about the minor, email Dr Cat Gleason at cgleason@truman.edu.
