Students using Ch. 35 benefits will also need to provide their sponsor’s social security number.Ìý Before the Semester StartsÌý–ÌýAfter registering for classes,ÌýsubmitÌýan Intent to Enroll form to the Registrar’s Office. Some factors such as repeated coursework, online vs. in person courses andÌýdifferent partsÌýof term can affect your benefits. Turning thisÌýpaperworkÌýinÌýearlyÌýhelps usÌýidentifyÌýpotential issues while there is still time to fix them.Ìý During the SemesterÌý–ÌýNotify the Veteran Representative of any changes in your registration, academic standing, or enrollment status. Schedule changes might incurÌýadditionalÌýcharges on your account.ÌýÌý You will be asked to verify your enrollment monthly by the VA via email.Ìý PaymentsÌý Chapter 33 – Post 9/11 GI Bill®Ìý Tuition and fees are paid directly to the school on behalf of theÌýstudent.ÌýÌý A monthly housing allowance (MHA) is paid directly to students at the end of each month. The MHA rate is based on BAH rates for an E-5 with dependents in Kirksville. This amount is prorated based on the percentage of benefitsÌýyou’reÌýeligible for, your rate of pursuit, and theÌýlocationÌýyou are taking your classes.ÌýÌý Students are eligible for aÌýlump sum booksÌýand supplied payment paid directly to the student at the start of each semester equal to $41.67/credit hour up to 24 credits,ÌýproratedÌýby the percentage of benefitsÌýyou’reÌýeligible for.ÌýÌý GI Bill® pays for mandatory tuition and fees only.
