Baldwin Hall Baldwin Hall is one of the major academic buildings on campus. The first floor is home to the Center for International Students, the , and the . Along with offices for faculty members and graduate teaching/research assistants, the building houses classrooms, collaborative study rooms, and foreign language computer labs and tutor rooms. Additional functional spaces include music practice rooms, interfaith prayer spaces, and conference/meeting rooms, as well as informal lounges and study spaces on each floor. Barnett Hall Barnett Hall is the hub for all student media, including radio and television studios and our magazine and newspaper production space. Health Sciences Building Our Health Sciences Building is connected to the Pershing Building and gives Athletic Training,听Nursing, Communication Disorders,听Health Science听补苍诲 Exercise Science students the opportunity to put theory into practice with the best hands-on learning available. Our Speech and Hearing Clinic serves clients from all over northeast Missouri, and we have state-of-the-art labs for health and exercise sciences research. The Nursing Simulation Center听is designed to run just like an actual hospital providing a place where听nursing students can practice their skills on life-like “manikins.” Kirk Building Currently undergoing renovation, this building will house a new Student Success Center comprised of the Career Center, Tutoring Services, Student Health Center, Counseling Services, Student Access and Disability Services, Center for Academic Excellence, Communication Lab, and Writing Center. The updated facility will also provide resources to the community, including workforce development outreach, rural telehealth counseling and academic outreach workshops. The Sustained Knowledge of Integrated Lifelong Learning Skills (SKILLS) Center will build upon the services of the departments in the Student Success Center, making key services available to the local community. Kirk Memorial Kirk Memorial is a well-known campus landmark. A statue of University Founder Joseph Baldwin faces the entrance to the building, and the Sunken Garden is located behind the building. The large dome is topped by a cupola with a weathervane that was welded in place to forever point northeast as a tribute to the , including Northeast Missouri State University. Magruder Hall The primary center for the study of science is Magruder Hall, which is home to the School of Science and Mathematics. This modern science facility has classrooms, research labs and prep rooms, a greenhouse, a solar garden, and a planetarium. You can also drop by the Herpetology Lab. You can take part in research in this vibrant learning facility. Magruder Hall is home to programs including Agricultural Science, Biology, Chemistry and Physics. McClain Hall Many administrative offices, such as Financial Aid, Registrar’s Office, and Business Office, are located on the west side of McClain Hall. It also houses the School of Social and Cultural Studies,听Classical and Modern Languages, History, Economics, Creative Writing,听English,听Linguistics, Philosophy and Religion,听and Political Science and International Relations. The east side of the building has听classrooms and faculty offices. Natatorium The , a 6-lane, 25-yard swimming pool, located inside the Pershing Building. The pool is open throughout the year for students, faculty, and staff free of charge as well as the general public with a valid pass. You can take courses ranging from basic swimming to American Red Cross Lifeguard Training, to CPR for the Professional Rescuer. Truman鈥檚 men鈥檚 and women鈥檚 swim teams use this facility for daily practices and hosting swim meets. Observatory You can view the planets, moon, constellations and other objects in the sky at the University’s , located on the University Farm. Stargazers, an organization for all students interested in astronomy, hosts events that are open to the 蓝莓视频 and Kirksville communities. Ophelia Parrish The Fine Arts Center in the Ophelia Parrish Building is home to the School of Arts and Letters and serves as the hub for Truman鈥檚 art, music, and theatre听programs. Here you will find beautiful performance and gallery spaces, including the James G. Severns Theater, a 240-seat courtyard theater. In addition, there is a 500-seat performance hall that has fantastic acoustics and is perfect for vocal and instrumental recitals. The University hosts many guest artists and concert performances, and our Fine Arts Center houses the University Art Gallery where faculty and student works are on display 鈥� the gallery also hosts traveling collections of fine art. Pershing Building听 The Pershing Building is named after one of Truman鈥檚 most distinguished alumni, General John J. Pershing. This facility houses Truman鈥檚 large arena where you can cheer on the Bulldog basketball and volleyball teams. The December commencement ceremony also takes place in Pershing Arena. Several facilities in the Pershing Building are available for use by chartered campus organizations and听university departments at Truman including Pershing Arena, the Small Gym, the Dance Studio, and six classrooms. Planetarium The is located in Magruder Hall, Truman’s science facility. The 60-seat, 1,800-square-foot planetarium, the only one of its kind within 90 miles, serves as a resource for all Truman students, as well as members of the local community. Stokes Stadium Truman’s 4,500-seat Stokes Stadium is home to the Bulldog football team and the track and field teams. The football field is surrounded by the Gardner Track, which features an all-weather surface. In May, the stands are filled with families and friends celebrating a joyous occasion as graduates walk across the stage to accept their diplomas at Commencement.
