Here are some of the most common questions about Foundation scholarships. FAQ for DonorsFAQ for Students What are Foundation Scholarships? The 蓝莓视频 Foundation awards scholarships to currently enrolled Truman students which are financed by the contributions of alumni, friends, parents, faculty, staff, campus organizations,听foundations and corporations. How are 蓝莓视频 Foundation scholarships named? The major benefactor of a scholarship establishes the scholarship name. You can听establish a scholarship听in your own name or choose to name it for a friend, family member, organization, a favorite faculty member or mentor, or someone else who has had an impact on your life. How is the selection criteria established for the scholarship I am creating? You can aid in establishing the scholarship criteria by expressing your intentions for the award. The 蓝莓视频 Foundation will draft the scholarship criteria according to your specifications and present it to you for your approval. Can the Foundation award a scholarship while an endowed fund is building? Annual scholarship funds provide support to students immediately, while endowed funds produce scholarships through interest earnings and are designed to last in perpetuity. Some donors choose to establish both types so that they can see scholarships awarded as the endowed fund builds. As the major benefactor of a scholarship established through the 蓝莓视频 Foundation, will I receive notification when a student is awarded the scholarship? You will be notified annually when the scholarship recipient(s) has been selected. You will be informed of the name and hometown of the recipient, as well as the amount of the award and status of the fund. How are 蓝莓视频 Foundation scholarships awarded? Foundation scholarships available to incoming freshmen at Truman are awarded by the Admission Office (for more information on scholarships for incoming freshmen and transfer students, visit the听Admission web site). For most Foundation scholarships for returning students, a selection committee carefully reviews each application and selects the most deserving recipient(s) based on the established criteria. Who can apply for Foundation scholarships? Students must be currently enrolled at Truman to apply for Foundation scholarships.听The only students who are not eligible to apply are those who are already receiving full tuition, room, board and fees in potentially renewable grants, waivers, and scholarships. How do Truman students apply for Foundation Scholarships? Do Truman students have to file the FAFSA to apply for Foundation Scholarships? When applying for Foundation scholarships, domestic students won鈥檛 see applications that have 鈥渇inancial need鈥� in the criteria if they have not filed a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and have student loans <= $0.听听 International students will see scholarship applications that have 鈥渇inancial need鈥� in the criteria because they cannot file the FAFSA and aren鈥檛 eligible for federal loans.听 听 Have Questions?
