Ofstad Visiting Scholar Program

Program Information

Responsibilities: 1. Teach a 1, 2, or 7 week intensive course at the intersection of LING/CRWT/ENG and your specialty. 2.Host 3-5 office hours per week. 3. Present a public lecture aligned with the course topic or another topic of interest. Benefits: Salary compensation to teach a highly personalized course. 2. Stipend for travel, food, and lodging accommodations.

Since 2020, Ofstad scholars have become an integral part of the intellectual landscape here on campus, teaching entirely self-determined courses to share in the age-old tradition of passing along unique knowledge to the next generation of avid learners. At Truman, Ofstad scholars teach a course in their area of expertise, hold office hours to engage with students, share meals and conversations with faculty, and deliver a public lecture to increase their professional visibility while听showcasing听their passion蝉.听听

We invite scholars to stay on campus for a听one, two, or seven week听block, depending on their preference and availability. This program is designed to provide a creative outlet for dedicated academics, acting as an enticing professional opportunity including a competitive salary, dedicated funds for travel and meals, and private on鈥慶ampus housing.
