Austin earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting in 1992 and a Master of Accountancy in 1993 from À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ. She has been a long‑standing supporter of the University’s accounting program and School of Business, contributing to scholarships, student initiatives, and faculty development. In 2016 she played a key role in establishing the KPMG Fund through the À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ Foundation to serve as a resource to strengthen the accounting program. Although one of the primary uses of the fund is student scholarships, support is also provided for accounting faculty development, equipment, speakers and course development. In 2026 she also started the Jennifer D. Austin Accounting Excellence Fund to further support Truman’s accounting program. As a student, Jennifer was a member of Delta Sigma Pi, the nation’s foremost co-educational business fraternity and Cardinal Key National Honor Society, Inc., an organization for student leaders. She was named Outstanding Undergraduate Accounting Student in 1992 and the School of Business Alumna of the Year in 2019. Early in her career, she was involved with recruiting other Truman accounting talent to KPMG. Jennifer served two terms on the Foundation’s Board of Directors, including as Chair of the Finance and Audit Committee. As a board member, she provided wisdom, guidance and direction, ensuring a smooth process and deeper understanding of the Foundation’s annual budget and audited financial statements. She also assisted the committee with identifying and recommending updates to the Foundation Board Policies. She is currently a Partner at KPMG in New York, with more than 30 years of professional experience. Her professional career reflects a commitment to excellence and thoughtful leadership fostered during her academic experience at Truman. Jennifer and her husband, Denis, are members of Tried & True, The Kirk Society and the President’s Circle.
