As the audition is a placement audition, you may be placed in an ensemble聽other than the one you are auditioning for (if your schedule allows).

In the audition, you will:

• 聦 Sing a prepared vocal solo (may be without the accompaniment)
• 聧 Sing simple vocal exercises
• 聨 Sing tonal and rhythmic patterns
• 聫 Sight-read a melody or your vocal part in a choral score

Prepare a vocal solo of your choosing. Choose music that you can perform comfortably to best demonstrate your musical and vocal skills. Acceptable repertoire includes art songs, folk songs, and arias.

NOTE: Copies of 鈥淎merica the Beautiful鈥� will be provided for those without other choices of solo repertoire. Also available聽聽(in B-flat).

Sign up for an audition time using this聽聽and arrive 10 minutes early.聽Students under consideration for Cantoria聽will be asked to sing in a group 鈥渃allback鈥� after their individual audition.
